The Mail on Sunday's business section splash was rather well timed.

Luke Barr and Francesca Washtell, two hard working young Mail hacks, ran a piece about how BP had come under fire from all quarters about its 20pc holding in Russian oil group Rosneft. BP in advanced talks to fund Nigerian oil producer - sources

Here is an interesting snippet about a rather large oil company backing an AIM-listed tiddler.

City sources have told little old Betaville that BP is in advanced negotiations to provide Sirius Petroleum with a debt financing package that should enable the business to to fund the drilling prgramme for the Ororo oil field offshore Nigeria and also look at other assets...

There were a couple of pieces that caught my eye in today's Sunday newspaper business sections.

Most intriguing was a comment piece written by Iain Dey, business editor of The Sunday Times, about how Exxon Mobil might rekindle its interest in FTSE 100-listed oil giant BP. Regular Betaville readers will know this is a topic little old Betaville has broached in the past. Anyway, if you missed Iain's excellent column I have pasted the link below:..
