Which retail tycoon is this week holding his birthday celebrations at a private club on Berkeley Square that he owns?
Well, that will be Richard Caring, according to Betaville's moles, who have informed me that Annabel's is being readied for a rather large soiree to celebrate the billionaire's birthday.
I wonder, though, whether another high-profile retail tycoon and business partner will be attending the bash?..

Betaville suspects some of his surveyor chums will be somewhat peeved one their favourite watering holes - The Audley in the heart of Mayfair, London - has just been closed down.
The pub was a bit of an oddity given it was one of the last bastions of an "old man's" style pub slap bang in the middle one of the most desireable spots of Mayfair, the upmarket district of London favoured by hedgies, dealmakers and entrepreneurs...

Apparently, that's how much it costs to become a super, uber premium member to Richard Caring's members' clubs and restaurants, such as Mayfair-based Annabels, George and Harry's Bar.
It's not clear, though, whether the super, uber membership - which supposedly guarantees no queues and immediate tables - is for a year, a decade or a lifetime...

Yes, you read it correctly - Sexy Elephant. According to top sources, Caring - the British retail tycoon behind Mayfair eaterie Sexy Fish, where I suspect many of Betaville's loyal readers regularly dine out - is rumoured to be planning to open an Indian food-themed restaurant...
