Loyal readers will know that Betaville's has recently dug out a string of corking UNCOOKED and RARE alerts about European takeover situations, such as ICA Gruppen, CNP Assurance and Telecom Italia.
There is something that struck me about this recent spate of deals on the European continent: many of them involve their largest strategic shareholder taking the company private.
And Betaville suspects there could be a few more of this ilk.....

And there you have it: Swedish retail-to-healthcare conglomerate ICA Gruppen has received a $12.5 billion takeover approach from its largest shareholder at SEK 534 a share in cash.
Now you might recall little old Betaville published an UNCOOKED Alert on ICA Gruppen a couple of weeks ago, suggesting the company could soon be involved in a major corporate transaction, such as a takeover:
