So, it was good to wake up to the board of Ideagen, the software compliance firm, reccomending a 350p a share cash offer from HG - and rival private equity outfit Astorg is being given the chance to carry out due dligence to come up with a rival bid...

Here is a little deal "exclusive" for readers interested in mid-market private equity deals.

Betaville understands that Inflexion, a London-based private equity firm, is in advanced talks to purchase a stake in Huws Gray, the Welsh builders' merchant based on the Isle of Anglesey.

Huws Gray hired HSBC last year to run a "strategic review" of the business, which generates almost £180 million in turnover...

Cinven said to be carrying out beauty parade for potential £2 billion sale of CPA Global - sources - part 2

"People close to the situation" have reached out to little old Betaville with some more information on CPA Global, the £2 billion patent management company I wrote about last week and also in last weekend's The Sunday Times.

According to these "people", Cinven is in the "early stage" of studying "options" for CPA, which is expected to generate around £150 million in operating profits (or EBITDA if your a banker) in 2016/2017...

Mediclinic said to weigh £1.8 billion plus takeover bid for Spire Healthcare

Mediclinic is preparing to bid for Spire Healthcare, the FTSE 250 company that was formed from the sale of BUPA hospitals.

According to excellent sources, Mediclinic is working with bankers from Morgan Stanley on the potential purchase of the remainder of Spire that it doesn't own (remember last year Mediclinic bought 29.9pc of Spire Healthcare for 360p a share)...
