Bloomberg has finally decided to follow up little old Betaville's UNCOOKED Alert on the takeover rumours swirling around Carrefour, the France-listed supermarket giant.

Over the weekend Bloomberg reported that Auchan, the privately-owned food retailer controlled by the billionaire Mulliez family, had approached Carrefour about a deal that would have valued the supermarket giant at around EURO 21.50 in cash and shares. Below is the link:..

Oh look - I see Le Monde, France's most serious newspaper, has followed up little old Betaville's UNCOOKED Alert from earlier on the week about French supermarket giant Carrefour.

French hacks at Le Monde seem to be suggesting that Carrefour's boss is looking at "options" for consolidation after holding talks with the Mulliez family that own Auchan, another supermarket chain...
