RARE ALERT: Walt Disney Co said to have rekindled interest in buying Twitter; price agreed - part 6

Good to see Bob Iger, chief executive of Walt Disney Co, finally confirm to the CNBC (see the link below) the company did come close to purchasing micro blogging website Twitter.

Loyal readers will recall that Betaville revealed last year that Walt Disney had rekindled talks with Twitter's board about a takeover deal when the microblogging site was running a sale process. Here is the link in case you don't remember:

That story, though, unleashed the wrath of several unpleasant Twitter trolls, including a "person close to" Walt Disney Co, who in an email to Betaville wrote:

"Off the record: This is incredibly irresponsible and unprofessional of you to be posting information you know to be false."

In fact, this "person close to" Walt Disney couldn't have been more wrong as Betaville believed the information to be accurate and that's the reason this website published the article.

Perhaps this "person close to" Disney should look at whether they were being "irresponsible and unprofessional" by attempting to intimidate a jobbing freelance hack with a decent and accurate jackanory?..
