Is the tide turning for Odey the Brexiteer? - part 26

Ping! An email arrives from a retired City contact who is in a bit of grump about receiving a letter from Odey Wealth.

Betaville's chum hasn't heard from Odey Wealth for four years but suddenly the private client arm of Odey Asset Management has got in touch asking whether he would like invest in funds either managed or overseen by charming Crispin.

The date of the letter - October 18, 2017 - coincides with the time the venerable Financial Times published its tale about the assets at the flagship Odey European Fund tumbling to £134 million.

According to the letter (seen by Betaville), Odey Wealth is a "discretionary investment service that is open to clients who investable assets (portfolio pensions, ISAs etc) of £500,000 or more".

Betaville's chum, a bit of a City expert, wasn't pleased given Crispin's terrible run over the last couple of years (the flagship fund was down almost 50pc last year and is down around 15pc in 2017).

I assured him, though, the Brexiteer's luck will turn around at some point.....
